No other art form captures the many moods of light in the same magical way glass does. The use of glass as an artistic medium began only recently with the “studio glass movement” starting in the early 1960s.  In particular, only then did creating blown glass art become possible with small furnaces able to melt the glass. This fascinating technique of creating blown glass art then became available to many artists worldwide. A lot of the modern glass art produced still owes its origin to the hundreds of years of experience and refinements of the Italian glass workers. These were mainly based around the town of Murano and as such these techniques form the basis of the modern glass art scene.

The unique object of blown glass art created by these artists using this ancient art are all individually designed, unique and of contemporary design. The blown glass art objects include innovative designs of such objects as figurines, bowls, vases, stemware, picture glass and sculptures that often defy the observer to understand how they were created.

Although some blown glass art is of everyday items with a practical use, each one has been individually designed and created as a unique object. Blown glass art is highly desirable and collectable as each piece is unique, an artistic creation of beauty, colour, exquisiteness and mystery as to how it was created.
