About Us

We started our online business in 2008 selling home accessories and artwork mainly inspired by contemporary African design, importing a quirky selection of unusual pieces. We have since opened our first shop in the Ayrshire coastal town of Troon on October 2010. The shop brings together an nice mix of occasional furniture, arts and accessories. We try to source things are a little bit different, and have a mix of South African and Continental pieces, with a fusion of global influences. If you happen to be in South West Scotland, please visit us on Portland Street, Troon. We have lots nice knick nacks that aren't on the website, as well as some beautiful pieces of furniture. We would be happy to see you!

Customer feedback is very important to us, and we would love to hear from you, it helps us greatly to source the types of products you want in the future. We want to make your shopping experience with us a pleasure, and we will do our very best to help. Please do feel free to talk to us.

We believe in Fair Trade principles, and our suppliers in Africa employ and support staff from the local communities under ethical working conditions. Many employees support their extended families, and we have visited some of our suppliers’ premises during working hours, and the staff really do enjoy their work. Our business with them helps to support growth of these small African manufacturing companies.

Many of our products are handmade, each piece unique, and because they are not mass-produced, they are exclusive and certainly a bit different. You may never come across anything similar again, particularly with artwork I firmly believe if you love it, buy it or be prepared to wish you had later.
